CAN IBIZA 2022 ART FAIR 

This year, from July 13 to 17 Ibiza will host the contemporary art fair, CAN (Contemporary Art Now), which brings together a wide selection of the most relevant galleries of the contemporary art movement, to present the work of some of the most exciting and recognized artists of the current scene. 

OD Hotels is the official Hotel of this edition, reinforcing its commitment to art and local impulse, in which, apart from supporting and sponsoring this initiative, will have its own stand within the fair and will be in charge of the after fair party on Friday 15th with its renowned Burger Meets Gin - Can Art Ibiza with DJ's such as Martaloe or Misha DJ at the OD Sky Bar of Ocean Drive Ibiza, located in the Marina Botafoch.

In its first edition, it will bring together some thirty international contemporary art galleries coming from Europe, America and Asia. Nanzuka Underground (Tokyo), Carl Kostyál (London/Stockholm), WOAW Gallery (Hong Kong), M+B Gallery (Los Angeles), 1969 Gallery (New York), Ruttkowski;68 (Cologne/Düsseldorf/Paris) or Dio Horia (Athens) among others have already confirmed their participation. On the Spanish side, ArtNueve (Murcia), L21 Gallery (Palma de Mallorca), Alegría Gallery (Barcelona), Veta (Madrid) and Polígrafa (Barcelona). In them we'll find works by Ana Barriga, Javi Calleja, Jordi Ribes, Pablo Benzo, Stefan Rinck, Christian Rex Van Minnen, Sally Kindberg, Jake Clark, Matt Bollinger, Chechu Alava, CB Hoyo, Marria Pratts, Ryan Travis Christian, Travis Fish, Julio Anaya Cabbanding, James Jarvis, Imon Boy...

Since ancient times, Ibiza has been marked by a great variety of cultures, forming a historical-artistic heritage of immense value. Its character as a receiver, assimilator and host of social, artistic and cultural movements has determined the materialization of CAN, an innovative art fair that fuses the excitement and liveliness of the contemporary art scene with the casual attitude of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

The fair will be held at the fairgrounds (FECOEV), with a careful architectural design where spaciousness and natural light will play a leading role. The fair will be open during the afternoons from Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12.oo a.m. to 6 p.m. - but there will also be unique experiences with programs of parallel events, private visits to institutions and collections or music nights until dawn. "We want to create connections, become a relaxed gathering. Ibiza has traditionally been a haven for artists and creators. In the sixties, there was the 'Ibiza 59 Group' and there is a good supply of local galleries. Our goal is to strengthen the alliances of international galleries with national ones. That artists from here can enter the international circuit and that those from abroad become better known in our country" -says Sergio Sancho, CAN's director and cultural promoter who already surprised us six years ago with UVNT Art Fair (Urvanity), another fair that has become an essential event in Madrid's art week. This time it will be held in Ibiza and will help boost innovation in the art sector on the island, as well as give visibility to Ibiza as a hub for international art, initiatives very much in line with the OD Hotels brand, and its CEO Marc Rahola.
